Apple Music is preparing to move AI disclosure out of the delivery feed and into the listening experience.

Music Business Worldwide reports that the service will display “Made With AI” labels later in 2026 when a material portion of a track or related content was generated using AI. Apple already accepts AI Transparency Tags from its content partners; the change will make those tags visible to listeners.

The responsibility begins with labels and distributors. They are expected to declare AI use in the metadata they supply to Apple rather than wait for the platform to detect it.

The label can only be as reliable as the information that reaches the platform.

One badge, one specific question

Apple’s approach is aimed at the content itself. Spotify’s recently announced AI Persona badge is aimed at a public identity that may not represent a real person. A synthetic persona can release human-performed music; a real person can release materially generated music. The distinction remains important.

Disclosure will not tell a listener whether the writing is strong or the recording is worth returning to. It can, however, give criticism and discovery a more honest starting point—provided creators and distributors use the metadata consistently.
